Cloud Watching

Lie down with me
in the lush green
and feel
as the breeze
kisses our skin
and the clouds
drift by
fluffy and soft
and a bit heavy
with the promise
of raindrops
that will drench
us both
together

On again and off
and on again
once more
when they perch
atop your nose
you can see
things that are far
and when you
push them up
to rest in
tangled locks
everything close
is clear

My eyes say
“kiss me”
as they linger
on your lips
and my stomach
flutters
light and wild
in anticipation
as you tease
by brushing lips
just lightly
against mine
until I ache
for more

The Wild One

There is a need
for time spent
with bare back
to forest floor
as pine needles
and twigs
poke at the skin
and springy moss
pillows the head
and leaves long
fallen and forgotten
find purchase
in tangled strands
to hitch a ride
all the way home
