Warmth
kisses the skin
dewy
and damp
as green things
grow
eagerly
and everything
has
its place
so that
the whole world
feels put
into order

Cold
When I
look at you
with eyes
no longer
a warm brown
but dark
like the
midnight sky
do you see
the heat
of anger
in their depths
or the cold
of a sea
where
icebergs
are born

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.
Today’s draw is the Four of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of taking time to rest, recuperation after a trying time, and stillness for restoration and meditation on the events that have brought you to this place as well as where to go from here.
The card has then been combined with an affirmation from The Az Oracle, which says, “When I look at you like this and you say ‘awwww.!‘… that is the sound of your heart flying open in a fraction of a second, that’s all the time it takes. THAT is the POWER of LOVE. The most powerful force on earth. How then, could anyone doubt love’s ability to change every. single. thing. (just as quickly)”
Giving yourself love is just as important as the love we give to others. When we fall in love with a puppy, when our heart expands at the sight of a squirrel… don’t forget that this love is something that shouldn’t just be directed towards others (or other things), but also towards the self.
One of the ways that we expressed love for ourselves is in allowing ourselves the rest and recovery we need. One of my greatest self-punishments lies in refusing to allow myself to rest and recover. Instead, always push-push-pushing forward and demanding more from myself.
Over time, I have learned to ease up a bit in this area. I don’t push myself through cycle after cycle of overwhelmed burnout, one after another. Instead, I try to give myself the space and grace to take things at an easier pace.
That said, I have not yet managed how to overcome my need to punish myself with sneakily passive aggressive acts of self abuse. I’m working on it though, and if this is an issue that you have as well, I hope you’re working on it too.
The message in today’s Four of Swords and affirmation is a reminder that rest, recuperation, and times of recovery are a kindness given to oneself that we all deserve. After all, how did we get overwhelmed in the first place if not by pushing too hard? Give yourself the same love that sparks to life within your interactions with the world around you, for you are just as deserving of it as that cute little puppy, squirrel, or other people in your life.

Which relationship calls for more openness and fresh air?
Queen of Wands and Gog & Magog
Share with a greater sense of openness, honesty, and clarity how you feel and what inspires you with those that offer a give-and-take with you. It’s only those within balance with yourself that deserve this greater connection to your vulnerabilities, as well as your passions.
The joy I may simply allow myself to feel today
The Moon and The Tree of Strength
Appreciate your hidden strengths without the need to act or force that strength upon yourself or others today. Allow this inner strength to not just become an awareness within you, but suffuse you so that you know that even during moments when you are feeling uncertain you will still find the strength to stand strong and steady.
This challenge calls for transformation
Seven of Cups and The Twisted Oak (Snoegen)
When given options, it’s always important to prioritize those things that you actually want to have priority. If you have the option between languishing at home or getting out in nature, and you want nature to be a priority, then you need to make sure that that’s what you’re choosing when the opportunity presents itself. Don’t just think about it… stand up and actually choose it whenever the opportunity arises.

Reflect Prompt for June 22nd : What brings me comfort and helps me feel safe?
Reading Summary: The understanding that my feelings of scarcity (Five of Pentacles) are a choice of perspective and not actual reality (Two of Swords Rx), and that if it truly becomes a reality, I am more than capable of doing something about it (Knight of Wands).
Take Away: It used to be (once upon a time) that those feelings of scarcity -were- a reality. I know what it is to be without food or safety, to have no roof over my head, and to feel as if even if help was available that I was undeserving of it.
When I feel scarcity these days and panic comes roaring up to greet it, it’s an echo of those past experiences more so than the reality I am currently in. It’s fear of returning to those times when scarcity was real.
I know, too, that should scarcity come calling, I would find my way out of it just as I did in my past.
These things bring me comfort and help me to keep a grip on reality so that my anxiety doesn’t tumble out of control when money gets tight or struggles rear up in my path.
Other elements included in this reading:
Pressed Pansy Flower for Hearing the Heart More Clearly
Black Spruce Needles to Boost Self-Confidence and Positive Thinking

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.
Today’s draw is The Devil card, which is traditionally a representation of temptation, struggles with moderation, harmful excesses, addiction, and self-harm.
The Devil card has then been combined with a Dalai Lama quote from the Gratitude Insight Cards, which says, “The roots of our goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.”
Sometimes it’s far easier to ignore the good things and focus on the bad ones. It becomes a habit that reaches beyond pessimism and starts to bleed negativity into our outlook of life as a whole.
From this lack of appreciation for the positive and good things in life the roots of negative outlooks and pessimism begin to spread and grow until they permeate every aspect of our lives.
The same process is true in reverse. When we focus on the positive and appreciate the goodness around us, it is those roots that grow and spread instead of the negative ones.
The message in today’s Devil card and affirmation are a reminder that we have control over how we see the world. Just like rust can eat way at metal, negativity can become a habit that eats away at the good in our lives. These cards encourage us to look at those places in our lives where this has begun to happen, and consider how to stop the spread by creating new habits that are healthier to replace the old unhealthy ones.

Prompt for June 21st : Summer Solstice Spread
Thrive: What is ready to thrive during the second half of 2026?
Rovo / Bramble – You have the opportunity to spark a new sense of enthusiasm for the parts of your life feeling a bit lack luster of late. Just have a care that you don’t go overboard. Dopamine is a wonderful thing, but it runs the risk of addiction without a bit of caution in regard to your excesses.
Lead: What part of myself is meant to lead this phase forward?
Frassino / Ash – Focus on being prudent and cautious when it comes to your finances. It’s often far too easy to toss money around when enthusiasm sparks, but you need to act in this area with good judgement and care.
Will: What holds the most promise for the months ahead?
Quercia / Oak – Following the advice above offers you the opportunity to grow your sense of security while still instilling in your life the chance to delve deeper into your experiences and emotions.

Sun enters Cancer Prompt for June 21st : What part of my home and family needs my attention right now?
Reading Summary: Your home and family needs you to show them what it means to stand strong (Strength) in the middle of chaos (Lightning Strike), and come out the other end still thriving (Strength), regardless of what life throws at you in the moment (Wheel of Fortune).
Take Away: The cards have been warning against the arrival of chaos and destruction for a few days, pumping you up for its arrival and providing you with advice on getting through difficult times.
These cards continue with this theme, encouraging you to tap into the survivor energy that lives within you and “show them how it’s done” as you move through the upcoming difficulties and chaos.
Turn your time and attention to making sure your confidence is being bolstered and you’re shoring up your reserves of stubborn determination and perseverance.

Prompt for June 21st : Do the Midsummer Spread
Horse: What can I do to build up my inner courage to live life with more honesty and integrity?
Lavender – Work on staying calm. If you want to build up your courage, part of doing that is ensuring that your anxiety is under control. You have the tools that you disposal to help keep your anxiety under control, but only if you’re willing to use them. Whether that courage is used to live life with more honesty and integrity, or to confront fears you’ve long carried, finding that calm in the first place is the answer.
Daisy: How can I insert more innocence and purity into how I view the world?
Raspberry – Stop looking at everything from the lens of “here we go again”. Remember that a fresh perspective can always help in clearing out the dust and cobwebs of a jaded mind. Open yourself up to seeing things from a new angle.
Lapis Lazuli: How can I be more honest with myself about my good and bad traits?
Mullein – Stop trying to ignore them. Things like this don’t go away just because you refuse to acknowledge them. Instead, it’s through your attention and an effort toward control that you can find a more honest view of both your good and bad qualities. Tighten down a little in this area for more clarity.
Citrine: In what ways can I work at expressing my creativity more?
Hops – Use creativity time as a cool down activity instead of holding the expectation that it’s something that will ramp you up. Creativity doesn’t always have to be an excitable activity or an exhausting someone. Sometimes it can just be chill and relaxing… if you let it.
Snake: How can I use my creativity to help foster fresh energies and a sense of rebirth?
Oregano – Creativity, even when used in the calming ways mentioned above, helps get your “juices flowing” in gentle ways, stirring up within you energy and enthusiasm that has become stagnant. Just do the creative things, even the little ones, and it will help kindle new energies within you and bring old ones back to life.
Heather: How can I invite more good luck into my day to day life?
Linden – Stop bracing for what might happen. There’s too much tension in trying to brace for impact. Instead, allow for awareness without seizing control in an unforgiving fist to try and protect yourself and others. You’re suffocating everything that way. Ease up.
Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Parmeliaceae Lichen for a “Breath of Fresh Air”
Calcite for Gently Calming the Mind and Stimulating Insights
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

This is a catch up post, and I’m not entirely sure what the self kindness was for this day.
These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.
The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?
Earth – Ten of Wands – Take care that you aren’t adding too much to your plate this week. The obligations and responsibilities you currently have are already more than enough. Make sure you aren’t adding more straw to the camel’s back. Even the smallest of additions could end up being that “last straw”.
Air – Five of Pentacles atop Seven of Pentacles – Don’t allow slow progress to make you feel like you aren’t getting anywhere. This is an illusion created by your negative inner narratives. Don’t buy into the story.
Water – Six of Cups – Nostalgia can’t take the place of having a good time in the present, so don’t try to make yourself fit in that box. Instead, seek out joy in the present. Will it look the same? No. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be just as good.
Fire – The Hanged Man – Put your focus toward waiting and watching this week, instead of jumping the gun to act.
Waning – Sad News and Hope Great Water – Do not allow disappointments to drag you down this week. There will be a transition from hope and possibility to a feeling of failure. Take care not to slide down that slippery slope into a negative headspace.
Waxing – Official Matters and Playful One – Step away from the seriousness of the situation and get out into activities that allow you to put serious matters aside for a little while. In doing so, things may look far more manageable and less dire on your return to them.
Take Away – Pressure, whether internal or external, is going to make it hard for you to say “no” to extra responsibilities and obligations this week. Make sure you -are- in fact saying no. Protect your well-being and emotional healthy by ensuring you are getting the space you need… by saying no. Instead, seek out things that make you feel good and distract you from your stressors. Even small things can make a big difference in this area.
Other elements included in this reading:
Carnelian Agate for Inner Drive and Focusing On Aspirations
Green Aventurine for Harmony and Balance of the Heart
Citrine for Energy Lift (easing the weight of heavy energies)
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy
