So much excitement
and so much fun
as Ms B dresses
as a wicked witch
to answer the door
for kids that come
and hands out candy
like Snickers and gum
as pumpkins glow
and skeletons scream
and little kids
laugh
at the spooky house
like a dream

Samhain Lenormand Reading

#DiscordTarotholicsOct2023 Challenge
October 31st – Grab a spread of your choice that you’ve been curious about… and give it a go!

Samhain Lenormand Reading with the House of Shadows Lenoracle Samhain Edition

What’s my personal connection to Samhain?

Clover and Moon – You love the decorations and the fun that can be had as long as you can keep your head above water emotionally. When you let things start to get too serious, though, you fall off the edge into the pit.

What am I being called to release during this time?

Person and Book – Let go of the need to lean into logic. Prioritize listening to others over of self expression.

What “dead things” (old patterns, situations, attachments) must I finally bury?

Brooms and Woman – You need to work on putting to bed that tendency within you to try and make things neat and tidy by sweeping them under the rug and ignoring them.

How can I increase my receptivity while the veil is thinnest?

Cross and House – Get out of your house and allow nature to ease some of the burden too much time inside has put upon you.

How can I honor my spiritual path today? Guidance from my ancestors.

Rider and Garden – Go now, and take someone with you.

Finding the Positive for October 28 – 30

Shadow Journey Tarot, Umbral Embers Tarot, Victorians Tarot, and Halloween Affirmation Cards

October 28

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was focused on the message in today’s cards, which is…

Ace of Cloaks (Swords) – In meditation, it can be hard to forget that there is no goal. There is no “empty  mind” or “silent mind” we have to force ourselves into.  There is no “perfect relaxation” to achieve. Meditative practice is a practice in mindfulness, which as today’s quote says, is about accepting the present experience, just as it is.  Nothing more and nothing less. There is no “good at meditating” or “not good at meditating”.  Don’t make it complicated.

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was focused on the message in today’s cards, which is…

The Star – Give yourself the benefit of the doubt.  You are far more capable than you think you are, and when you look at the world from a place of optimism, you give yourself a greater chance to truly shine and show just how much you’re capable of. Don’t smother  you radiance because you fear failure.

October 30

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was focused on the message in today’s cards, which is…

The Emperor – Remember that while the veil is at its thinnest you need to stay stalwart and strong. Over the past few years as you have begun to explore the mediumship ability you had previously suppressed, your connection and receptivity has increased exponentially.  The rest of the year, you can be open to the influences of those spirits around you, but during this time they are far too strong and being open to them puts you at risk for negative influences.  Stay strong instead.  Listen, but do not yield.

Last Harvest 2023 – Samhain

Tomorrow is the third and Last Harvest of the 2023 autumn season.  Although this holiday (which is also known by most as Halloween and by many as Samhain) is celebrated around the world by those that embrace the rich history of many traditions that originated in Paganism, most don’t realize that is what they are doing… or that this holiday carries special significance as the eve of the Day of the Dead when the veil is at its thinnest between our world and those that have passed.

Samhain

Like with new moons and full moons, I usually do a spread to check in with myself and give myself some direction for the next couple of months for each solstice, equinox, and other Sabbats. Unfortunately, I was unable to do my normal Sabbat reading this month, so I picked one off the internet that fit the theme of the holiday to do instead.

Samhain Ritual Oracle Reading with the Seasons of the Witch Samhain Oracle

Card to describe the upcoming darker half of my year.

Banshee – You are going to have to stay on top of self destructive tendencies over the next few months. They are due to rise up and become a problem.

What do my ancestors want me to know.

Silence – Keep up on your meditation. It can help in combating those self destructive tendencies as well as keep your connection to your ancestors and guides stronger over the dark months ahead.

Why this message is important for me to know.

Divination – You get more out of yourself (and out of your ancestors and guides as well) when you keep up on your meditation. It is easy to lose yourself in the rush, but healthier not to.

How can I protect myself from negative energy.

Owl – Don’t ignore the encroaching darkness within you when it comes. Use your tools to confront it and bear it back instead.

A shadow aspect of myself that’s calling me to explore.

Dark Moon – Some of the triggers of your depression live in the past. It isn’t all chemical.

Guidance from my ancestors.

Ancestors atop Transformation – Make sure when you petition your ancestors for guidance that the one’s speaking to you have your best interests and well-being at heart.

Anacortes

I am longing
for sand
and salt water
and beautiful
misty mornings
wet and foggy
cold and quiet
other than
the scream
of seagulls
and the quiet lap
of water
against rocks
and seagrass
mounds
