Floral Seeker Tarot's Queen of PentaclesThe @GlitterbyInk #JuneSun25 Challenge
Summer Sunlight Prompt for June 8 : Energy

Today’s draw is the Queen of Pentacles (Wax Begonia), which is traditionally a representation of a receptive alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s resources, financial stability, health, home, labors, manifestations, or other aspects of the physical realm. This often translates into a supportive or nurturing energy or entity in the areas of one’s health, home, and financial responsibilities.

When you take care of others you take care of yourself, and when you take care of yourself you take care of others.

Just because others depend on you doesn’t mean that you can neglect yourself and your own needs. To be the stable foundation in others lives requires maintenance of that stability and thus… self-care.

Self-care isn’t selfish when you are the stabilizing force in others lives. It’s also another way in which you are caring for them.

Philosophical Question for June 18th : Why do people feel the need to distract themselves from reality?

Philosophical Oracle Reading with the Wildflowers of the West Oracle and Twist the Leaf's Gratitude Oracle

Reading Summary: The color in the Black-Eyed Susan card correlates with the list of creators in the anchor card. The speaks of drawing one’s attention to what is creating a need for distraction. What is pushing this behavior?

In the Wild Bluebell card and the Butterfly Bush card, there is a connection between the pink in each of these cards and the hands and face of the diver in the anchor card. This brings into focus that the control of these situations is in our hands, but is mitigated by our perception of what’s going on in the moment.

The blue hues in the Wild Bluebell card is reflected in the blue ocean background in the anchor card, although not as a perfect match. This connection reminds us that our perception of the world around us is often flawed and how it can sometimes be skewed by what’s going on right in front of us.

Take Away: These cards indicate that when we are distracting ourselves from reality, it’s because we are not seeing the whole picture, and what we are seeing is causing misconceptions on how to move forward. The cards also offer advice that says instead of jumping to conclusions, one should take a closer look around and try and see things from an outside perspective, or from the perspective of where these stressors are originating from… rather than just our own perspective on the issue.

Daily Self Kindness

Although I didn’t take a nap today, I did take breaks and rest when I needed to.  I also stepped inside to cool down when I needed instead of pushing on in the heat.

Pluto Stuffed AnimalThe Inner Ache

I need a cuddle
and a little bit
of closeness
as the ache
at solar plexus
demands attention
and I want
to bury my face
in soft fur
or clean sheets
to simply
breathe in slow
and let it out
a little at a time

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot Reading with the Cards Drawn Tarot and Phases & Forests Oracle

EarthThe Moon atop Five of Swords – Don’t engage. Engaging in conflict this week is only going to lead to feelings of uncertainty. There will be no clear winners, no matter how hard you try, just lots of questions and relentless feeling of uncertainty that grows and intensifies as the conflict continues.

AirThree of Cups Rx – Remember that it’s okay to not feel sociable sometimes. You’re not an extrovert, even if you can put on the shoes now and then when you need to, and pushing yourself in this area at the moment will just drain you, exhausting you mentally.

WaterEight of Wands – Give yourself room this week emotionally, for your emotions have a tendency to run amuck now and then. This week is going to be one of those weeks where they’re swirling around, trying to overwhelm you with their speed and numbers. To keep the clamoring to a minimum, give yourself that extra emotional space.

FireNine of Cups Rx – Don’t let the emotional upheaval of this week make you feel less than, nor that you don’t have enough or haven’t done enough. Remember that emotions create illusion, which can in turn cause feelings of dissatisfaction to rise up. Emotions, though, are not truth tellers. They are temporary impressions that come and go.

WaningSummer Solstice – Don’t get ahead of yourself. There’s still plenty of time to get the things done you need to get done.

WaxingRest: Waning Crescent – Keep your eye on the prize and what needs to be finished, and consider what kind of reward you want to give yourself for finishing up and getting the job done.

Take Away – Stay on target this week with what you want and need to complete, and don’t allow your emotions to lead you astray into murky waters. You are more than capable of the tasks before you, even if self doubt occasionally causes you to not quite believe in yourself. Remember that emotions are temporary, and ebb and flow like ripples over water.
