Finding the Positive for September 1 – 3

Be With Your Body Tarot, Tarot of the Everlasting Day, RainShadow Tarot, and Thera-Pets Emotional Support Animal Cards

September 1

Ace of Hips (Cups) – You matter… and so do your emotions and how you feel about things.  Don’t let your feelings stay buried, as they can cause some unpleasant physical repercussions when you do. Specifically?  It can cause your IBS to act up.   Instead, speak up and share your emotions with those that need to hear what you are feeling… and with those that you trust to help you process them.

The Hermit – Today’s card is a reminder that it’s okay to need that alone time, and the cuddle time with Miss Luna when you are able to get a bit of it.  Don’t feel guilty about it, thinking you are taking away from other responsibilities in order to be “selfish”.  It’s needed for your mental health, and for hers too.  You’re allowed to need that, and to take it when you can.

King of Swords – “You are going to get through this just fine”, it’s just going to take a bit of leadership and strategy to get there.  Take the initiative and activate that clever mind of yours to show others how it’s done and inspire them to follow your lead. Creative thinking on safety measures and physio exercises is a must right now to help Ms B re-discover her independence and confront her fears.

Gideon’s Challenge

Temperate Shifts

Cool breath skims
over skin
followed by heat
too miserable
to be in
but the cool returns
once again
and we’re left
wondering
what month we’re in.
Hooray for
no Indian Summer
this year…
I hope.

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot Reading with the Tarot of the Everlasting Day and Coffee Cup Oracle

EarthThree of Cups – Try to find some time to have some fun with others this week. Lean into laughter and making everyone feel included. It will help build a more cohesive unit, and a greater sense of stability if you do.

AirSeven of Swords atop Ten of Wands – Remember that if you don’t deal with and mitigate feelings of overwhelm, they will sneak their way into the territory of burnout and end up stealing away your energy and confidence.

WaterThe Devil – Stay mindful that your emotions can drive you to unhealthy behaviors. Make sure that you are dealing with your emotions instead of letting them fester so that you can avoid going down that road.

FireAce of Wands – It’s okay to let yourself get excited and enthusiastic about something. Work on incorporating a bit of passion into your days instead of trying to smother that aspect of yourself.

WaningEye and Heart – Be grateful for what you have instead of feeling envious that you don’t have more. You are getting time with him that you weren’t before. Is it as much as either of you want? No. But feeling envious about that solves nothing and brings a negativity into the equation that doesn’t need to be there.

WaxingDove and Snake – It might not seem like it, but this week would be an excellent time to drown.

Dream Echoes

Heart and stomach
clenched like rocks
heavy
in the chest
as each takes turns
trying to climb
into the throat
and a hand lifts
to wipe
sleep from
corners of the eyes
while a shaky breath
is drawn
and reality
comes back into focus

Every day
I think of you
From the moment
eyes open
to greet the day
to the moment
my head
touches upon
pillow’s softness
it is you
my thoughts return to
again and again

I love you

Weekly Creativity Prompt – The Devil

Prompt: “Pull the Death card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own deck(s). How would you read them differently and why?

Modern Love Tarot - The Devil CardModern Love Tarot – Whips and chains and patent leather really leans into the sexual aspect of the Devil card, and I would normally interpret this card as being about those things you are curious about that might be considered risky or taboo.  Out of the four cards I’m interpreting in this exercise, it is the most likely card that I would interpret with sexual undertones, although not always… for it isn’t sex I think about when I look at this card, but the thrill of anticipation when trying something new and/or dangerous.

The Devil Card - Midnight Magic Tarot, Margarete Petersen Tarot, and The Mind's Eye Tarot

Midnight Magic Tarot – Hypomyces lactifluorum is a parasidic fungus that takes over the fruiting bodies of other nearby mushrooms.  In this card I see the potential for addiction. Not just in reference to drugs or alcohol, but to anything that can provide one the dopamine our brains crave.  Sugar, cookies, praise, kisses, driving too fast… the list is endless.  What in your life has the potential to take over if you don’t keep it in check?  What can you do to help keep these things in check so that they don’t take over and possibly change your life in negative ways?

Margarete Petersen Tarot – Eyes gaze upon  you through the sharp angles of judgement as open wounds fill the frame and chaos reigns.  In the grip of obsession and addiction, it doesn’t matter how deep the knife cuts… as long as you get what you crave.  The imagery in this card speaks to me of wounds, self judgements, and that savage need that grips one’s insides when addiction is upon us.  Where in life are you sacrificing pieces of yourself for something that’s slowly starting to take over or sabotage what you once held dear?

The Mind’s Eye Tarot – Again we see eyes watching on and a theme of red.  Red is the color of passion, anger, lust, and blood. It’s the color of obsession and the color of gaping wounds.  The figure in this card seems indifferent in both her posture and demeanor. Combined with the eyes and the overwhelming red of the card’s coloring, what I see her is a question about what you are ignoring.  What bad habits or shadow behavior needs dealt with instead of turning your back upon it and pretending it doesn’t exist?
